A UNIQUE four-part series tracing the rise and fall of the Third Reich through its massive buildings, monuments, and rally grounds. By fusing first-generation archival film with modern, colourful footage of each structure as it appears today, the Ruins of the Reich provides a chilling and fascinating journey into the depths of what was once Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich.
HIGHLIGHTS include a fascinating “then-and-now” tour of the Tannenberg Memorial, Hindenburg’s Neudeck Estate, the Maginot Line, the Atlantic Wall gun batteries and U-boat submarine bunkers. Also featured are Hitler’s campaign headquarters, the Wolfsschanze and Wolfsschlucht, and a complete tour of his mountain retreat on the Obersalzberg. Viewers also visit the former Nazi Party rally grounds at Nuremberg, the D-Day landing beaches of Normandy, the towns and villages of the Ardennes, and scenes of the infamous battle of the Bulge. One of the most interesting sites is the Berlin Chancellery Bunker, which was connected to the Führer Bunker, where he met his end in 1945.
