Breach of Security sheds light on the German secret Forschungsamt, the intelligence agency tasked with wiretapping and code-breaking during the Nazi regime. First published in 1967, this account remains one of the few detailed expositions on the agency and its role in gathering intelligence before and during the Second World War.
The book follows the Forschungsamt's operations through surviving traces of its reports and activities, from tapping German telephones to breaking diplomatic codes and monitoring public and confidential communications.
