Signed The Night the Dams Burst

Reference: SI-1-NDB

Cutaway diagram showing an Upkeep mine backspinning and skipping across the reservoir before sinking beside the dam and detonating underwater
Operation Chastise, 16–17 May 1943: a specially modified Lancaster released one cylindrical Upkeep mine at about 60 feet and roughly 220 mph. Backspin carried it past the torpedo nets; it then sank against the upstream face and detonated below the surface. Sequence compressed; distances and the number of skips varied.

This listing is for one signed hardcover copy of The Night the Dams Burst by David Irving.

Fulfilment: Dispatched by Irving Books.

About the Book

The Night the Dams Burst documents Operation Chastise, the RAF moonlight attack on Germany's Ruhr dams in May 1943, from both British and German perspectives.

The book draws on RAF records, German civil defence archives, interviews with British aircrew and German survivors, and material relating to Barnes Wallis and the bouncing bomb.

Due to David's health, he is no longer able to sign books. We have only a very limited number of signed books that we are able to offer, and each signed listing is sold individually.
