Buying for a shop, library or group
Irving Books supplies bookshops, libraries, universities, societies, reading groups and online resellers directly. Our books are printed to order in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, so trade orders are firm sale at a trade discount rather than sale-or-return.
Terms at a glance
- Trade discount
- 35% off the list price on orders of 10 or more copies, mixed titles welcome. 40% on orders of 50 or more copies.
- Minimum order
- 10 copies in total across any titles.
- Sale basis
- Firm sale. Books are printed for your order and cannot be returned for credit.
- Payment
- Pro-forma invoice, paid by card or bank transfer before printing. Thirty-day account terms are available by arrangement after 3 paid orders.
- Carriage
- Charged at cost from the nearest printer and shown on the pro-forma. Orders outside the UK ship from our US or Canadian printers where every title in the order is available there; otherwise from the UK. Import duties and taxes are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Dispatch
- Most hardbacks and paperbacks are printed and dispatched within 5 to 10 working days of payment. Larger runs are quoted individually.
- Not available on trade terms
- Signed and personally thumbprinted editions, limited and numbered editions, one-off copies, ebooks, audiobooks and gift cards.
How an order works
- Send the enquiry below with the titles, formats and quantities you need and where they are going.
- We reply with a pro-forma showing the trade price, carriage and the expected dispatch date.
- Pay the pro-forma by card or bank transfer. Printing starts when payment clears.
- You receive the tracking details when the parcel leaves the printer.
Why trade terms rather than a membership
The Irving Circle member discount is a courtesy for a reader’s own shelf. It covers up to 2 copies of each edition and a capped amount per order, and it is not a trade account. If you buy in quantity to sell on, lend, teach from or distribute, the trade terms above are better for you and clearer for us. About the Irving Circle
Catalogue and metadata
Every title with its ISBN, format, page count and list price is in the shop, and the machine-readable product feed is at /feed.xml. Ask if you need cover images, author information or a price list in another format.
